Will you Christen our baby?

Yes; of course, if we can.

If you live in the parish of St Neots we shall be glad to christen your child. The parish lies to the east of the River Ouse and the North of the Henbrook. So it includes the old town, the Sandfields estate, the Longsands Road area and Priory Park. If in doubt ring or email us.

If you live in another part of the town or elsewhere, we shall be happy to give you details of how to get in touch with the vicar there.

We think that christening is important. It means belonging to Jesus Christ. Its other name is baptism, which means dipping or pouring water over the child.

When you contact us, somebody from the Church, usually the vicar, will come and see you to arrange the date, to invite you to come to Church one Sunday morning, and to offer our help. What sort of help? You have a child to bring up. You want the child to grow up straight and to know the God who gave him or her life. You are clearly the best people to do this, but you may like our help in doing it. We can give it in a number of ways:

  • You can come and pray with us and learn with us on Sundays;
  • You can send or bring your children to Sunday School;

We for our part will try to be as welcoming as possible, and to respond to your requests and your needs. We hope that you will always feel that St Neots Parish Church is your Church and that it is a place where you can find God.
